Full Question: Given that I’m working from home now due to COVID-19 – can you confirm what expenses I am reasonably able to claim?

As a limited company you can claim for any expenses you have incurred to ensure you can continue running your business. Working from home is a legitimate business expense, providing that you will be using it solely for business. For example, computer screens, webcam for video meetings etc. that is allowed.

The use of home claim has increased to £26 per month from April 2020 and this is the amount you can claim without keeping any records.

Alternatively, you could proportion your utility bills such as electricity, water, council tax (not mortgage payments) based on the number of rooms in your house and also the number of hours you spend working. Please note that if you choose this option, you will need to keep records to support these claims and we can help you with this.
